General impressions of MFW 2022-23

Fashion Week in the northern part of Italy was noisy - stars came to the shows, and designers surprised with their contrasting collections, balancing between conservative tranquility and flashy futurism.

Unlike the past weeks in New York and London, at Milan Fashion Week we were able to enjoy the shows of leading fashion brands. Fendi, Prada, Moschino, Gucci, Versace and other leaders of the fashion world showed new creations, setting clear trends for the upcoming fashion season.

In general, it was possible to notice that fashion designers did not redraw the list of trends too much, so most of the wardrobe will be left - almost all things will remain relevant in autumn and winter. But you will have to get new products - what designers have introduced into fashion, we analyze together with the brightest shows of Fashion Week.

Among the most popular celebrities on the podium were seen Bella Hadid - she participated in the shows of Moschino, AMBUSH and Fendi, as well as her sister Gigi - the girls together showed the autumn-winter collections of Max Mara and Tods.

Fendi

Fashion house Fendi presented the collection one of the first - already on the first full day of Milan Fashion Week, its models went on the catwalk, demonstrating atypical clothes for the brand.

The show was opened by Bella Hadid, dressed in a light satin dress in a linen style and a fur cape.

After her fashion show, you could think that something light and romantic was waiting for us, but soon the flying fabrics were replaced by a dense suit, leather and wool.

The fashion house demonstrated how to combine fabrics of different density and texture, as well as how to combine femininity and shocking in one image.

Roberto Cavalli

Unlike Fendi, which this autumn recommend betting on conservatism and restraint, the designers of Roberto Cavalli decided not to be modest. Their new collection is a mixture of floral color, animalism and futuristic designs.

There is a suitable novelty in the collection for black lovers - frank dresses with notes of medieval England, the atmosphere of the royal palace and bursts of modern street fashion in New York.

Max Mara

Conservative, minimalist brand Max Mara opened a series of presentations on February 24 with its show. As always, the basis was made up of total bows in one color scheme. The main colors of the palette were chosen black, brown and its shades, gray.

Bright accents were orange, yellow and red - all these colors were included in the list of trends for autumn-winter according to Pantone.

The styles chosen for the collection did not come as a surprise – clear lines, the right length and what excessive sexuality. That's how we know the Max Mara brand.

The star of the show was the already repeatedly mentioned Bella Hadid. Her image was not too bright, but the details received a lot of discussion. Fashion experts appreciated the fur clutch bag, which turns into elongated gloves.

Prada

The fashion show for the fall-winter 2022-23 season from Prada is unlikely to be called any other word, except for contrast. For the presentation, the fashion house used the already familiar design of the podium - we saw it at the demonstration of the men's collection.

Prada Podium

One collection combined stretched T-shirts, lace skirts with beaded embroidery, as well as oversize jackets, coats and cozy jumpers made of knitwear with an exaggerated shoulder line.

Guests of the presentation were Emma McKee, Kim Kardashian, Avani Gregg and other celebrities.

Moschino

Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott in the autumn-winter season 2022-2023 relies on luxury. But not as we are used to seeing - the basis of the collection was made up of outfits, as if created from furniture accessories. Surrealism swept the brand, reflected in dresses-chests of drawers, dresses-cases as if from the upholstery of the sofa and harp dresses.

The main stars were the Hadid sisters, who tried on unusual runway images.

Now, after the end of Milan Fashion Week, it is safe to say that the Moschino show was one of the most unusual.

Sportmax

Unexpected from the point of view of style was the Sportmax show - the basis of the collection was feminine dresses, suits and skirts with a slightly rough cut. Features of the silhouette most of the outfits favorably highlighted the fragility of the female figure.

Also among the novelties were tight dresses, strict sets of dense suits and lacquered raincoats. Not without fur capes - they were used by many brands and, it seems, it is time to look for similar models - they will definitely be popular in the coming autumn.

Gucci

The Gucci collection is the result of a collaboration between the creative director of Gucci and the sports brand Adidas. It combines classics and elements of street style. There were outfits with reflective elements, and fashionable bags, and an abundance of rivets, and unexpected combinations of fabrics.

Gucci

Manifestations of sports style were observed in the most unexpected places - blue boots and berets with branded three stripes, knitted suits with the Adidas emblem, jackets with a combined logo of Gucci and Adidas Originals.

The collection came out quite diffuse and original - just the way its fans are accustomed to seeing the fashion house.

Versace

Donatella Versace gravitates to experiments, so each of her collections is a mix of modern fashion and the fashion designer's own views on the fashion industry. At Milan Fashion Week, she demonstrated how to combine latent sexuality and femininity, but at the same time not to turn into vulgarity.

Versace Show

The main character of the show were corsets - by themselves, or as part of dresses, jackets and even down jackets.

Also in autumn-winter, the fashion house offers to wear things in a cage, not to give up oversize and are not afraid of bold wardrobe items like latex leggings or extremely short skirts.

The stars of the evening were sisters Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski.

Dolce & Gabbana

Under the banner of futurism, the presentation of the fashion house Dolce & Gabbana was held. Sharon Stone, Lady Kitty Spencer, blogger and musician Sphere Ebbast came to support the designers.

As for clothes , it is difficult to even find words that reflect the extraordinariness of the collection. Dolce & Gabbana designers were able to make the usual at first glance suits, down jackets and dresses truly futuristic. This will be the new fashion - bold, unusual and without any framework.
