Общие впечатления от LFW

London Fashion Week or LFW was lively and fun, thanks in large part to the organizers - the shows were bright and spectacular, the guests were famous, and the off the catwalk events were exciting and fun.

One of the most memorable events was the party where Joy Crooks performed. Special guests at the event included Irina Shayk, Chloe Cherry, Munroe Bergdorf, and Munya Chavawa.

Irina Shayk did not stop at the socialites and the next day she appeared as the lead model for designer Matty Bovan.

In the final days, the organizers decided to devote time to social issues related to the fashion world as well. On February 21, there was a discussion about the future of fashion, as well as trade in fashion industry items.

But the most important thing about London Fashion Week is, of course, the shows. And we'll discuss the best of them next.

Bora Aksu

The well-known Turkish fashion designer Bora Aksu has a fabulous collection. All his models look like they came from the Middle Ages - flounces, voluminous skirts, ruffles, layered designs.

The color palette was chosen accordingly - no bright colors, only trendy pastels - lavender, pink, blue.

For all the lightness of the dress styles, there was something careless about them, as if borrowed from the grunge style. As a result, we got something between medieval England and Europe in the middle of the last century.

Mark Fast

This year at London Fashion Week there were many young designers, little known outside the UK. One such designer was Mark Fast. To be sure to be remembered, he took to the catwalks with some rather unusual clothes.

The designer used in the collection almost all fashionable color palette - blue, red, green, beige and the main thing - blue-violet - the color of the year 2022 according to Pantone.

The collection was mixed - on the catwalk showed both men's and women's outfits, although officially Men's Fashion Week ended at the end of January.

Matty Bovan

The show of British designer Matty Bovan at London Fashion Week for the Fall-Winter 2022-23 season was remembered not only by Irina Shayk, as the star model.

To say that this was the brightest and most unusual collection of the entire Fashion Week is to say nothing. Lace, pieces of folk crafts, tartan wool, layering and unconventional styles - all this came together in a diffuse collection of the designer.

Interestingly, the designer invited muscular men to show things - they dressed in unusual dresses, demonstrating the author's desire to create gender-neutral things. During the development he tried things on himself - a new look based on freedom, acceptance and tolerance.

Almost all of the items shown on the runway were the result of a collaboration between Matty Bovan and leading clothing brands. The jeans from Calvin Klein, the sneakers from Converse All-Star, the tracksuit from Adidas.

Ahluwalia

As non-trivial and bright as Matty Bovan's collection was, Ahluwalia's catwalk outfits seemed strikingly relaxed at first.

But that all changed when the print in the spirit of academism or preppy was replaced by bright pink color, bare shoulders and cropped tops.

The designer balanced between styles, flowing from understated English classics to sporty, street and glamorous styles.

For decorating used literally everything - hints of patchwork, imitation applique, the technique of tie-dye. In general - a game of colors and boundless imagination. This is how we can characterize Ahluwalia fall-winter collection.

Conner Ives

For the brand Conner Ives it was his debut Fashion Week and those who are already familiar with the company were looking forward to seeing his models. The expectations were justified - he created an atmospheric collection with a pronounced American energy.

In contrast to the youthfulness and carelessness, the designer showed more restrained, elegant things. The jacket alone, as if created for the movie "The Devil Wears Prada", combined with bright patent leather boots, is worth mentioning.

Molly Goddard

If you miss the fashion of the 80-90's, look at the photos from Molly Goddard's fashion show, which combined the fashion of the end of the last century with modern trends. The basis of the collection consisted of tulle dresses, and diluted them with knitted cardigans, pullovers and sweaters.

A touch of glamour was added to the outfits with lurex threads as the models shone on the catwalk, reminding of the cyclical nature of fashion.

Central Saint Martins Ma

After the show of the graduates of Central Saint Martins MA - Central College of Art and Design in London, London Fashion Week can officially be given the status of the most extravagant. One collection combines everything - support of minorities, inclusiveness, diversity of forms and a touch of avant-garde.

It seems that the students put all their creativity into the design of clothes - otherwise you can't explain the originality of this collection.

Emilia Wickstead

Emilia Wickstead autumn-winter collection 2022-23 can be described with only one word - geometry. So simple, chiseled and laconic were the shapes, so diverse were the selected styles.

Extreme mini, midi dresses with a hint of new look, models studded with sequins - all this was harmoniously combined on one runway.

This collection is sure to please those who appreciate simplicity and elegance, diluted with a slight minimalism and its avant-garde manifestations.

Simone Rocha

Probably, it would be impossible to describe it more precisely - a mixture of naivety of children's fairy tales and not always pleasant reality - it's really melancholic, but beautiful.

Almost all the outfits at the Fashion Week show are light, airy, layered clothes with ruffles and frills that make the models Irish fairy tales characters, as if they just came out of a picture in a children's book.

Other interesting LFW shows

Raf Simons digitally showed a collection inspired by the Dutch Proverbs painting. This resulted in minimalism combined with futurism and innovation.

Vivienne Westwood decided to stay with simple prints - plaid and stripes. Almost all of the presented images are printed tote-looks. Curiously enough, she based her collection not on the subtlety of design, but on the spirit of the Year of the Tiger - authoritative, bright and dangerous.

Designers Erdem did not go beyond the habits and presented outfits in the ethnic style inherent to them.

PAUL & JOE balanced between modesty, functionality and modernity. The brand's outfits have incorporated parts of retro or vintage, complemented by trendy materials and decorations.

London Fashion Week is behind us - more than a hundred designers showed their vision of fashion for the upcoming fall-winter season. Now it's time to look at the Italian efforts - let's move on to Milan Fashion Week!
