Where did street style come from?

Not the last place in the formation of the street style of clothing was taken by Pierre Cardin. The fashion designer was one of the first to notice that young people need their own manifestation and this requires different, new and modern clothes.

Often when talking about street fashion, another name appears - André Courrèges. It was Courrez in 1961 who brought models in miniskirts to the catwalk, which was a new round in the history of fashion. Despite the rebellion that drove the fans of street style, their images remained elegant – they were not images of an urban madman. Gradually, the street style began to seep out of Japan and England. Already by the 70-80's, it was reflected in the wardrobe of American youth.

There, the new style was taken calmly, since the very street fashion was similar to the usual images of surfers. Since the direction has just appeared, it has gone through many transformations. Only the elements of youth culture that appeared were constantly added to it - hip-hop, punk, heavy metal.

High fashion also has an impact - street style moves in step with trends, so it is constantly changing, supplementing and improving. High fashion makes adjustments to street fashion, inspiring it with its new collections. So, at the fashion week autumn-winter 2021, several brands demonstrated that from now on, brightness, boldness and unusual combinations are in trend.

Basic principles of street style

Although the street style refers to the free, creative direction in clothing, similar signs can be traced in all looks:

• No frames. Street fashion does not dictate what can be worn and what cannot be worn. On the contrary , the more freedom and originality, the better. Boldly combine the incongruous, use bright colors - or do not use, create bold images, even if they go against the established rules;

• Denial of luxury. This has been the custom since the very beginning of the style, when everyone wore sophisticated outfits in the spirit of new looks, and young people in every way opposed ostentatious luxury and elegance. • Lack of brand fixation. Street style and its adherents do not care at all whose production a thing is - it can be both an expensive brand and a no name thing. Often there is a combination of expensive and cheap things - a Balenciaga top and trousers from the store near the house;

• A combination of comfort, extravagance and sophistication. Putting on everything that has fallen out of the closet is not street fashion. The main task is to combine comfort and freedom of choice, but at the same time create a stylish, attractive bow.

It is in this age interval that street style looks harmonious, although it all depends on a particular man or woman - if desired, and after 40, you can concisely fit the street style into your wardrobe.

Teddy Boys

Teddy Boys is a subculture of the early 50's. It was spread only in Great Britain and found a place among young working-class people. They tried to imitate the golden youth and collected images with pipe trousers, a coat and a bow tie. Teddy Boyce is one of the variants of street fashion of a certain era, but not the street style we are talking about.

Sports

Similar features are in the street with sport-chic - comfort while maintaining elegance. However, sport, even in its luxurious variety, continues to be built on the basis of clothes and shoes, which have migrated into fashion from different sports directions.
