History of Rockabilly
The rockabilly style of clothing is relatively young, at least in comparison with some ethnic or boho. The formation of the style dates back to 50-60 years of the last century - this period was the peak of popularity of the American performer Elvis Presley. It was Presley who made a great contribution to rockabilly, as he often performed in pretentious, extravagant and bright costumes. 
But not only costumes formed the style - optimism, brightness and a positive attitude were manifested in the music of the performer, filled with features of rock and roll, country, jazz.
The appearance of the king of the stage and his compositions quickly conquered the fans, who began to bring positivity into their lives, including in clothes. The new subculture dictated not only bright looks, but also appropriate behavior - frank dances, bright makeup, eternal parties - these were typical representatives of rockabilly. 
To understand the subtleties of style, it is enough to watch the film "Styles" - there the main characters perfectly reflect both the appearance and attitude to life of representatives of the subculture.
The popularity of the trend came to naught quickly - already in the 70s, no one even thought to wear a polka dot dress and a red soloch on the head, but the fashion is cyclical, and who knows - maybe rockabilly will again become a fashion trend, and so far it often remains a theme for stylish parties or photo shoots.
Characteristics
- Bright colors and prints. Rockabilly radiates positivity, so the outfits dictate the appropriate - bright colors, which can be the main or as accents, outstanding prints - mainly peas or check;

- Clothing that emphasizes the figure. This rule applies to women's wardrobe - all things emphasize the femininity and beauty of the figure. Popular dresses with bustier bodice, which highlight the chest. At the same time as the bustier dress can be above the knees, exposing the beauty of the girl's legs. Another frequent attribute is shirts tied under the chest, tight-fitting skirts with a delicate neckline, tight-fitting jeans - everything to show the figure and attract attention to yourself;
- Comfortable styles. Since the rocabilly clothes were selected for clockwork dances, the styles used appropriate. The dresses had a comfortable length that allowed you to spin in the dance, the skirts had cuts for freedom of movement. What you can't dance in is not suitable for rockabilly.
Rockabilly wardrobe

- Skirt. A sun skirt, a half-claw, a pencil with a high waist - all these styles have a place for the rockabilly wardrobe. Pay special attention to shades - the brighter, the better. Skirts are sometimes used to give the skirt volume;
- Shirts. It is better to choose several different shirts - white, red, in a small cage, in peas, with cherries. Combine them with different skirts, as well as with trousers;

- Pants. The classic image of rockabilly does not imply jeans on girls, but now they are successfully integrated into the images. Classic jeans, plaid shirt tied under the chest and a bright accessory on the head and the image of a positive rebel are ready;
- T-shirts and tops. As with dresses, T-shirts and tops accentuate the breasts. Shades are very different - from monochromatic black, white or red, to models with prints.
Dilute your wardrobe with denim shorts, tight-fitting dresses, leopard leggings, cropped braid. Of course, not every girl in such a bright image will go to the office or for a walk, but it is not necessary to use all the elements of rockabilly - combine some of them with more familiar and everyday images in the style of casual, sports and even business. 
Shoes & Accessories
Choose comfortable shoes - even if they are boats, they should be with a comfortable fit on a low stable heel. Converses are common. 
An obligatory accessory is a headband, preferably of a bright shade - it will become a color accent in the image.

Wide and medium straps are used to outline the waist - they hide the transition between the skirt and the top or simply emphasize the fit of the dress. It is better to abandon bracelets and pendants, but large bright beads are quite appropriate. 
Rockabilly for Men
For the men's wardrobe are characterized by:
- Shirts in the western style. Such shirts have a reinforced lining in the shoulder area. The color at your discretion is black, red, blue. Also a popular cage;
- Unusual jackets. These can be models made of shiny fabric, as well as in a check or strip. Non-standard colors are welcome - mustard, blue, orange, yellow;
- Jeans or pants. The choice of clothing for the bottom is quite wide. Fabric cropped trousers in a check, black jeans, blue jeans with scuffs or holes will do;
- Leather jacket. The image of a daring guy will emphasize the leather jacket. A model of a classic cut, with or without accessories, as well as various asymmetric options, will do;
As accessories, use bright belts, ties with patterns, suspenders - all this will help in creating a stylish and original image. 
On the feet, wear classic shoes - oxfords, for example, or shoes with a narrowed nose. For more daring representatives of rockabilly, the addition of a fashionable bow will be boots with thick soles.
