History of country style

The emergence of the country style, as a special direction in clothing, dates back to the middle of the 19th century, when European immigrants, arriving in America, they went in search of gold, adventure or salvation - many fled from justice.

Any of these lifestyles required comfortable clothing that does not constrain movement. The style of the settlers was quickly picked up by local residents, who appreciated the convenience and practicality of the outfits. By the end of the 19th century, every second farmer wore jeans and a cotton shirt – such a wardrobe was durable, and also hid pollution from the results of labor. Women's country also existed, but in many ways it differed from men's. Women's jeans were replaced by dresses and skirts made of natural fabrics, and to attract attention and demonstrate femininity, the outfits were supplemented with jewelry and accessories.

It was the women's country style that became the progenitor of lace-up blouses. Women's hats were also worn, but for romance they were decorated with satin ribbons.

Over the years, the country style has had its ups and downs several times. So, at the beginning of the 20th century, this direction became less popular, but by the 70s the situation had changed and the practical style became popular again. Then the fall followed again and it lasted until 2009 - this year marks the triumphant return of country style, which is now actively used for everyday wear, photo shoots and thematic events.

Characteristics

• Convenience. Even a dress or skirt in a country style should be comfortable and not constrain movement. That is why silhouettes are most often free, with a simple cut and made of light fabrics;

Difference between country and western

When comparing these two directions, the question often arises - how country is different from westerns. Indeed, some elements of these styles are similar - fringe in the decoration, a hat on a string, natural fabrics.

Country style is clothing in a rustic style, which was created primarily for comfortable work on a farm or plot. Western is a cowboy style inherent in the inhabitants of the Wild West. Cowboys also pursued the goal of creating a convenient outfit, but the concept of convenience for the farmer and rider was still different, as well as the natural conditions.

For example, sandstorms often raged in the wild west, so a neckerchief appeared in the Western style to protect the face from sand. Cowboy outfits are more daring and sexy, while country dresses are simple and light.
