
Today Valentino is a symbol of Italian fashion, but 60 years ago the founder of the fashion house Valentino Garavani started with a simple atelier in Rome. The designer did not plan to stop at a small business and confidently began to move towards his dream - to give women beautiful clothes. A few months after the opening of the studio, he held the first show there. The increase in brand awareness registered in 1960 is often credited to Elizabeth Taylor, who became one of Garavani's first celebrity clients. And indeed, this raised the status of the then young brand - other celebrities began to consider it. The first serious show took place in 1962 - then the Palazzo Pitti collection was presented, consisting of red outfits.

Red later became the fashion house's signature color. Now the activity of using red has decreased, but it still remains in demand among Valentino designers. It is noteworthy that Valentino Garavani was interested in the fate of the fashion house throughout his existence.
Until 2008, he was the chief designer, although at that time the company had already been repeatedly resold to various parent companies. Valentino left the fashion house in January 2008, showing the latest collections of ready-to-wear and haute couture, after which he officially left the post under the applause of those present, but regularly followed the actions of his followers.
After 3 years, Garavani approved the direction chosen by the fashion house and confirmed that the heirs learned everything from him and now they can make women beautiful themselves.
