
The founder of the brand was Miuccia Prada Bianchi, the granddaughter of Mario Prada, the creator of the fashion house Prada. Miuccia hatched the idea to create her own brand for a long time, but there was simply no time for this - the woman invested as much as possible in the family business and continued to develop her grandfather's brand. In 1993, she decided to open her own brand, two of its names - Miu Miu, as her relatives called her at home. The main idea of the company from the first days was the freedom of creativity - Miuccia wanted to reveal her creative potential and not be limited to a rigid framework, as it was in Prada.
The first fashion show of Miu Miu took place in Paris in the year of opening - this step was risky, as the collection was bold and unusual for those years. Fortunately, the work of the designer was perceived with a "bang" and a year after the launch of the brand, the whole world wanted to open a boutique of original, bold and reflecting the individuality of clothes in its cities. But the success cannot be called unprecedented. The scandals that unfolded around the company were more related not to clothing, but to the ways in which Miuccia advertises it. From the very beginning, she attracted unique models with a twist for filming and showings. Typical castings were not held for selection - Prada always noted that she chooses girls not by appearance, but by the strength of the personality.
And so, in 2011, the face of the brand was invited to become Hayley Steinfeld - then still a young actress of 14 years. The pictures turned out to be so emotional that even the British Advertising Standards Committee could not resist. The reason for such attention is shooting on rails that cause only one feeling - fear for the girl. In addition, the public noted that such advertising campaigns give other children a bad example and will entail terrible tragedies. The campaign was eventually banned, but this made Miu Miu even more popular.
