At the initial stage, he could only draw sketches, but after working with Charles Jourdan, he also mastered practical skills - he learned to design shoes. In 1991, already being a famous designer, he registered his own brand - Christian Louboutin.
Christian became world famous for his famous shoes with a red lacquer sole. According to his own assurances, the idea to paint the sole in red came to him by chance, when his assistant painted his nails with red varnish, and he was adjusting another pair of shoes.
