Cristóbal Balenciaga is a Spaniard by birth, since childhood he was associated with sewing. As a 12-year-old boy, he helped his mother, who worked as a seamstress. Already at such a young age, he independently made patterns and sewed clothes. In 1907, Cristóbal, who was interested in the Marquise de Casa Torres, entered the best atelier for an internship - it was the Marquise who contributed to this.
After such a successful start, the guy easily found places to work - he worked as a tailor in a department store, then in the atelier-store of friends. In 1917, Balenciaga decided to open his own business - so the fashion house Balenciaga, originally based in San Sebastian, appeared. The young designer was famous in Spain, but the civil war made adjustments to his career. In 1936 he suspended the work of the Spanish fashion house and moved to Paris, and in 1937 opened the fashion house Balenciaga already in the French capital. Starting from scratch, even having fame throughout Spain, it was not easy in Paris – he had almost no money, but there were plenty of debts. The authority of the fashion designer grew, but the financial side of the issue remained acute - in wartime, not many could afford expensive luxury outfits, and there was no need for them. The situation improved after the war, when the name of Cristobal and his fashion house was associated with impeccable cut, feminine silhouettes and high quality.
It was Balenciaga who created innovative, and now very popular dresses with a high waist, outfits with a decorated back and a shortened sleeve 3/4, allowing girls to wear beautiful bracelets. Then, after the war, he received recognition all over the world. For his outfits, the most popular women of that time lined up - Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy.
Until 1960, the fashion designer worked exclusively for high fashion - mass production did not interest him. But it was in this year that the demand for outrageous runway models fell and Balenciaga allowed the use of his clothing models in the creation of mass outfits in factories. The growth of the fashion house in the eyes of consumers continued until 1968 - then Cristóbal closed the fashion house. From his death in 1971 until 1997, the company's influence diminished, and the appointed creative directors could not revive the former glory of the eminent fashion house. In 1997, Nicolas Ghesquière took over as creative director and during his work until 2012 he managed to return the fashion house to influence in the fashion world. Now Balenciaga is a stable and recognized fashion house in the fashion world.
The main focus of Balenciaga has always been clothing, but consumer demand literally forced to expand the range. Now in the catalog on a permanent basis are presented:

Despite the fact that ready-made clothes are presented in the catalog, it cannot be said that the range is wide. There are all the details of the wardrobe - jackets, T-shirts, trousers, skirts, dresses, but in each category there are 10-20 models. It is difficult to track the stylistic direction of Balenciaga clothing, since the fashion house forms the assortment based on fashion trends. Often there are things in the style:

There are also atypical models of clothing - for example, such neon pants made of spandex. But such options are rather rare - basically, these are quite familiar clothes, but in the spirit of a fashion brand.
By the way, there are many oversize models in Balenciaga. Sweatshirts, sweatshirts, jackets as if from someone else's shoulder - the visiting card of the fashion house for the last couple of years.
Of the shoes, sneakers are popular - their fashionistas will recognize out of a thousand.

In any season, the fashion house Balenciaga offers a large selection of accessories, including:
In 2020, with the onset of the pandemic, protective masks became a mandatory position for production.
Perfume, produced by a fashion house, is almost more popular than clothes. The girls appreciated almost all the released fragrances, but especially note Paris and Florabatanica. The first aroma is light, powdery, sweet, the second is fresh herbal.
In 2012, the star of the "Twilight" films became the face of the fashion house and introduced the fragrance Florabotanica. Before Kristen, Charlotte Gainsbourg received a similar honor. It is rumored that many in the fashion house were against it, but the friendship of Gainsbourg and the then creative director Nicolas Gesquière became a decisive argument.
Also for the fashion house starred the famous model Hailey Bieber, Lily Collins, Selena Gomez, Renata Litvinova and others.
