One of the oldest companies in the production of clothes and shoes began with the desire of the Dassler family to improve their financial situation and start sewing shoes. The role of owners was given to the brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, who, thanks to the difference in characters, complemented each other and successfully developed the family business.
Until 1925, things went steadily, without spikes and falls, but it was in that year that Adolf developed and sewed the first pair of football boots, which quickly became the main products of the company. It was the success of sports shoes that allowed the Dasslers to build their first factory, but it did not last long - until the outbreak of World War II. The brothers went to the front, and their brainchild remained only a memory.
The Germans tried to use the factories for the production of weapons, but could not cope and soon summoned Adolf from the front. Of course, Dassler was far from weapons and the only thing for which the factory and the skills of its owner were suitable - sewing shoes for the military. 
After the war, when both brothers were in their native lands, they tried to revive the family business, but soon they had a serious quarrel and each went their own way. Interestingly, in fact, they chose one road, only in Adolf it was called "Adidas", and in his brother - "Puma".
From 1950 to 1970, Adolf's company grew - he developed new models, used different options for combinations of materials, and a little later expanded the range. Thanks to a partnership with the owner of one textile factory, tracksuits with three stripes appeared in the assortment. 
In 1978 there was a crisis in the work. Firstly, because Adolf Dassler died, and secondly, competitors Nike and Reebok entered the market. Sales fell, and the heirs of the company did not know what to do with it. Eventually, after the death of Adolf's wife and their son, the remaining heirs sold their shares and the company awaited numerous resales, reorganizations and optimizations.
Now the Adidas concern has two production facilities - in the USA and Germany, and there are also partner companies that produce most of the products for the brand.
